New Release: His Final Secret

The fight is nearly over. His reign of darkness is reaching its end.

The cure for magic has been discovered, and for Talon the truth of its source is more horrible than he could have imagined. Tormented by what he has learned and on the verge of falling from reason to madness, he leaves the Refinery more determined than ever to put an end to his tyranny once and for all.

Oz has led Eryn and their companions deep into the mountains, to a place long buried beneath the stone. They have a plan to set the Empire free, but first they must find a way to escape the relentless pursuit of General Spyne and his strange and silent hunter.

Battles will be fought, bonds will be broken, and his final secret will be revealed.

I don't usually write that much here to accompany my new releases. I tend to save most of my words for the INSIDE of my books. This is the final book in the Tears of Blood series, and I want to thank all of you who have read it through to the end. Writing ToB been an interesting journey for me. His Dark Empire was the third book I published, and after the success of the Divine series I thought I knew how to sell books.

I was completely wrong. The covers were okay, but not great. The blurb was weak. It has been a constant struggle to get readers to these books for the last two years. With the success of my other series, especially War Eternal, ToB became more a labor of love than anything else. I had a vision for the story from day one. I exactly knew where and how I wanted it to end. That doesn't happen often for me. Books change as I write them. They grow and mature as the pieces fall into their places. The endings shift, sometimes a little, sometimes completely. Not ToB.

That doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be happy with the ending. It's bittersweet. Depending on your perspective, it may lean more towards the bitter side. It's the kind of ending I don't think a traditional publisher would have ever let make it into print.

But that's why I'm proud of these books, and this series. That's why I've invested in new covers for all of them, and spent hours tweaking the lead-in blurb in an effort to find more readers. I hope when you read His Final Secret, when you reach the end, that you either love it or hate it. A one-star or a five, with no in-between. I hope that you feel something when the curtain comes down, because I surely did. I hope the characters have become as real to you as they have to me.

Thank you again.

Okay. I suck. His Ancient Heart went live on Amazon, and I completely forgot to post about it.

My apologies to anyone I left hanging. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the writing, I forget about this side of the equation.

I hope that fact that it's available will help make up for it :). You can get it here, now: http://www.amazon.com/Ancient-Heart-Tears-Blood-Book-ebook/dp/B00OM2631C.

Buy it. Read it. Love it (I hope).

Divine Series Update

Since I first published Balance in January of last year, it has been exclusive to Amazon. That is about to change, and all of the Divine novels will be available across all of the major e-book retailers by the beginning of June. If you have any friends who might like the Divine series, but are on a different platform, don't be shy about talking up how awesome the books are (I'm assuming you think they're awesome, since you signed up for the mailing list) :D

The other major news is that the Divine series is coming to audio!

I've entered into agreements to have all four of the existing Divine novels narrated and produced through Audible, with Balance arriving both there, on Amazon, and on iTunes within the next few weeks. I think Audible provides a few free promo codes, so please e-mail me if you're interested in getting a free copy. Depending on response I'll pick a few names at random. The narrator, Jeff Hays, is doing a fantastic job with the material, and it's a fun next step in the evolution of the story.

Divine #5

Speaking of evolution, that's going to be the title of the next installment of the Divine series. So far, you've seen Landon fight a lot of demons and the Beast, but in Evolution he'll be forced to start looking at life from the other side of the fence, as the balance begins falling towards good. You'll see a few old characters making appearances, as well as some new ones joining the fight. As for release date - I'm thinking sometime around the Holidays. I know it's a ways off, but I have another cool project in the works that I hope you'll enjoy.
